At SGS (Scattaglia Growers & Shippers), we focus on a clear and simple vision. Our goal every day is to delight our consumers with good tasting fruit that we have grown just for them. To meet this goal we work together with like-minded retailers to deliver the good taste of our product to our shoppers and their families. We put up exceptional packs of grapes and tree fruits that command an appropriate price in the marketplace. This sustains us as growers and enables us to plant the new acres of fruit trees and grape vines that will meet the increasing needs of our retail partners. The mission of our company is, “To deliver premium quality product to the consumer through the best customers possible, to enhance the return to the grower.”

Where outstanding service is always in season

Our California operations are based in the Central San Joaquin Valley. We have planned our tree fruit production in two ways. First, we grow only those varieties that are most desirable in terms of our shopper’s eating experience. Second, our harvest schedule ensures that our retail partners have consistently promotable fruit volume available across the category all season long. SGS offers a full complement of premium quality grapes, including reds, blacks and greens. Through careful planning and innovative practices we have extended our California grape shipping season well into January. While we are based in California, our grower partners in Chile, Peru, Brazil and Mexico enable us to provide our customers with year-round service. In these growing regions, as in California, every aspect of growing, quality control and shipping is closely supervised by SGS employees. Our SGS Import Office, based in Los Angeles, coordinates all shipments from the Southern Hemisphere and manages quality control and distribution on arrival.

Our farms and packing facilities are certified to the GLOBALG.A.P. standard, an international system of food safety disciplines that is recognized throughout the world. Our shoppers can rest assured that our product is safe, and that we have implemented a program of labeling and record keeping that enables us to determine the growing site, harvest and pack date of every box of fruit we produce. GLOBALG.A.P. also assures that we take a responsible approach to every aspect of food production including worker health, product handling and the environment.
